This 2-day safari is a great choice if you want a quick wildlife escape from Kampala or Entebbe. You’ll have a game drive through Lake Mburo, spend a night in the park area and have another chance to explore the park the following morning.
Lake Mburo is home to zebras, giraffes, impalas, buffaloes, Uganda kobs and elands. You can also add a nature walk or cycling experience if you want to get out of the safari vehicle and experience the park differently.

Day 1: Kampala/Entebbe – Lake Mburo National Park – Game Drive
Morning
Your adventure begins in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe. Meet your Onyx Nature Safaris guide, have a short briefing and set off towards western Uganda.
The journey takes you through the beautiful Ugandan countryside, passing local communities, farms and changing landscapes as you make your way towards Lake Mburo.
You will have a stop along the way for breakfast or refreshments before continuing towards the park.
Upon arrival in the Lake Mburo area, enjoy lunch before entering the park for your first wildlife experience.
Afternoon Game Drive
Set out on an afternoon game drive through the park's open savannah and woodland.
Lake Mburo is known for its populations of zebras, impalas, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, warthogs and elands, as well as giraffes and other wildlife.
Keep your eyes open for animals moving through the grasslands and around the waterholes. Your guide will help you spot wildlife and explain the different species and habitats you encounter.
As the afternoon progresses, enjoy the beautiful scenery and golden light across the park before returning to your lodge.
Spend the evening relaxing at the lodge and enjoying dinner surrounded by the sounds of the African bush.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive – Lake Mburo – Kampala/Entebbe

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast before heading out for your final wildlife experience.
Morning Game Drive
The morning is a great time to explore Lake Mburo while the temperatures are cooler and wildlife is active.
Continue your search for zebras, giraffes, impalas, Uganda kobs, buffaloes and other animals. Depending on the route and conditions, your guide may take you towards different parts of the park for a varied wildlife experience.
For travellers interested in a more active experience, a guided nature walk or cycling safari can also be arranged as an alternative to the morning game drive.
After the activity, return to the lodge for lunch and check out.
Begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, with a stop along the way for refreshments or a local experience where time allows.
Arrive in the evening, marking the end of your 2 Days / 1 Night Lake Mburo Safari.
