Our 7 day Mountain Uganda Gorilla holiday starts and ends in Kampala the capital city of Uganda. This gorilla vacation starts with a  Kibale trip for chimpanzee tracking safari with its 13 species of primate including the chimpanzee. Tracking the noisy chimpanzee families racing through this verdant forest is a thrilling experience. Within the forest, the safari will involve you in several tourist activities that include birding within Bigodi Wetland nearby, Guided Nature Walks and Local Community Tours.
The journey continues to Queen Elizabeth National Park for chimpanzee trekking in the Kyambura Gorge nearby and wildlife safari tour. The safari will end in Bwindi Gorilla tracking Forest where you will track the endangered mountain gorillas from one of the four habituated families. Seeing some of the last remaining 700 mountain gorillas tracking in the world is a fantastic and awesome experience of this Uganda Gorilla Safari

GORILLA TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Kampala – Kibale Forest

Get briefed about the Mounatain Gorilla trekking Safari. Drive to Fort Portal located in western Uganda passing via the town of Mubende . You will arrive in time for lunch at you lodge. Relax afternoon or explore nearby Crater Lakes region in the evening. Dinner and Overnight at Primates Safari Lodge or chimpanzee Guest House (FB).

Day 2: Kibale Forest Chimpanzee Safari

Morning Tea, assemble at Kanyanchu headquarters for your chimpanzee briefing. Then start your trekking experience while tracking chimps you will be able to see  other primates crashing around through the high canopy of the forest with colorful bird species like sunbirds, pittas, and others and you guide will introduce tree species to you and the traditional uses.   Dinner and Overnight at Primates Safari Lodge or chimpanzee Guest House (FB).

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Relaxed breakfast, drive direct to Queen Elizabeth wildlife park. The park is situated on the foothills of Mountains of the Moon. On the journey keep an eye out a variety of game life in Queen Elizabeth. Wildlife safari seen will depend on the season and time of the safari. Check in at your lodge then have lunch. Relax at you hotel or take a late evening game drive.  Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or samba safari lodge (FB)

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking Safari through Kyambura

Morning safari to Kyambura gorge nearby to track the chimpanzees, one of man’s closest relations. The chimp population is quite mobile and viewing is unpredictable but the walk is enchanting. Another option on this day will be a nature walk in Maramagambo Forest to see the Bat cave, Blue Lake   and other primates. Return to you lodge for Lunch and afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel where the wildlife and a vast array of birds can be seen. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or samba safari lodge (FB)

Day 5: Journey to Bwindi Gorilla Forest

Set for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest located in south Western Uganda. You journey will take you through  Ishasha, home of the tree climbing lions, roads permitting, or take the alternative route through rural cultivated expanses of Western Uganda. Time permitting, go for a short stroll around the Safari Lodge or explore the village. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort / Buhoma community Bandas (FB).

Day 6: Gorilla Tracking Safari

This morning you will be transferred to the park headquaters by you safari guide for briefing. You will then go gorilla tracking within the montane forest. Your gorilla trekking safari through the forest is quite interesting and memorable involving walking up steep densely forested hills before while looking for the gorillas. Gorilla tracking holiday in Bwindi Gorilla Forest requires physical fitness speeding 30 to 5 hours tracking. After the gorilla trek, you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi Kabale for an overnight stay at Arcadia cottages or Bushara Island camp

Day 7: After breakfast, return to Kampala at leisure. Lunch  enroute. End of Mountain gorilla tour
