Uganda Primate Safari

10 Days Uganda primate safari ( Gorilla safari Bwindi, Chimpanzee tour to Kibale, Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, Ngamba Island trip and Kampala cultural safari)

Day 1: ARRIVAL
On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will meet a representative from Onyx safari will great, brief you and Transfer to your Hotel in Entebbe. Sleep at Boma Guest house or Sophie’s motel.

Day 2: NGAMBA ISLAND TOUR
This day of your Africa safari, will have breakfst at your Hotel and transfer to Uganda Wildlife Eucation Centre for your briefing before you board a ferry to Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Then board a boat to the isand where you will be greeted by the care givers on the island.Before your chimpanzee viewing, you will have a brief intoduction and back ground of the santuary , feed habits and behaviours of the primates,residents on Island and other vistor attractions and activities. You will go for chimp viewing on the viewing platform offering a good and excellent opportunities for photography. After you will board a boat to the main land ( Entebbe) where you will meet your guide and transfer to your accommodation in Kampala. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel Africana or Holiday Express Hotel.

Day 3: ENTEBBE – KIBALE CHIMPANZEE NATIONAL PARK
Morning cup of coffee and start your journey to Kibale Chimpanzee safari Park. The drive to Kibale will take you 4-5 hours arriving at your lodge in Kibale early afternoon. You will have your lunch in Fort portal town and proceed to the park and check in at your lodge. You will have the afternoon free or take a nature walk among the two major tribes around Kibale park ( Batooro and Bakiga) for cultural performances and traditional dances. You will transfer to your accommodation dinner and over night at Primates lodge or Chmpanzee guest house.

Day 4: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK & BIGODI SWAMP
This morning of your safari to Kibale will be spent exploring the great kibale forest for its primatess. The forest is femous in Africa safaris for being a home of a varriety of primates compared to other forests in East Africa.Take a guded natures walk in search for man’s closest relatives the chimpanzees and primates residing in the tropical forest of Kibale like of Kibale Forest red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others may be seen . This walk is restricted to three groups of six persons each, in the morning and the same number in the afternoon. Retire to your accommodatin for lunch which will be followed with a guided nature in Bigodi swamp. Transfer to your lodge in the evenning dinner and of night stay.

Day 5: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK – QUEEN ELIZABETH WILDLIFE SAFARI PARK
This morning of your arrival safari will start with a cup of coffee before traveling to Queen Elizabeth Park. Then a tour crater lakes region as you head to Queen Elizabeth National Park. The grater lakes region offers a clear view of mountains of the moon and scenery of Kasese town. You arrive Queen Elizabeth in the Afternoon and lunch at your accommodation. If you are sleeping in the luxury Mweya Hotel you will relax at the swimming pool. Then a late evenning game drive in search for the resident of the park like waterbucks, warthogs, elephants, buffalos, antilops and other wildlife will be seen. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge or budget institute of Ecology.

Day 6: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
This day will start with a game drive heading to the mating ground of the Uganda Kobs. You may see other residents of the park’s grassland like lions, elephants, buffaloes. Waterbucks, giant forest hog and other wild animals in their natural habitat before returning to your lodge for your breakfast. After late break fast you will relax at your lodge and wait for lunch. After lunch, you will have a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel, while the boat trip you will have an opportunity to see wildlife like hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the Kazinga channel are also home to an array of bird species like pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many more. After the afternoon boat trip, we will drive back to Lodge for an Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Simba safari lodge/ Institute of Ecology (FB).

Day 7: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – BWINDI GORILLA TRACKING SAFARI
Set for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest located in south Western Uganda. You journey will take you through Ishasha, home of the tree climbing lions, roads permitting, or take the alternative route through rural cultivated expanses of Western Uganda. Time permitting, go for a short stroll around the Safari Lodge or explore the village. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort / Buhoma community Bandas (FB).

Day 8: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
Before starting your gorilla tracking, you will fast be briefed about the tracking experience by your ranger guides. You will walk through the dense forest in search for the gorillas through the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track the gorillas. (This gorilla tracking experience may take a half an hour to 5 hours.
You will have time you get closer and Sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other, and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male; the silverback. Depending on the time you will spend with the gorillas, you may opt for a nature walk after the trekking experience.
Overnight at Gorilla Resort Camp / Buhoma Community Bandas (FB)

Day 9: BWINDI – KAMPALA
This day will adventurous and stunning with a long journey from Bwindi to Kampala. Your first stop over will be in Mbarara for lunch and the second one will be at the Equator for photographs then Mpambirwe drum makers for craft shopping. Proceed to Kampala arriving in the evening. Overnight and dinner at Hotel Africana or Budget Holiday Express Hotel.

Day 10: Kampala Cultural Safari and Flight Out
This will your last day in Africa and it will end with a culture tour and sight seeing in Kampala. This city tour will take you to the Kasubi Tombs a burial ground for kabaka of Buganda , Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, the Uganda Museum where historical and cultural instruments are kept for remembrance and African Craft Village for craft shopping . Then you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
