Mountain Gorilla Uganda Safari, 8 days
Day 1: KAMPALA – BWINDI
Depart Kampala for your gorilla safari with a stop over at the Equator, a famous spot for photography. Proceed to Bwindi Gorilla Park, while on the way you will see the long horned Ankole cattle grazing on the road side and take pictures. Lunch enroute in Mbarara. Dinner and overnight at Bwindi Gorilla Resort or Buhoma Community (FB).
Day 2: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK
After a heavy breakfast you will set off for your briefing from the guides for your gorilla experience, Go mountain gorilla tracking holiday in the forest sanctuary of Bwindi . The tour begins at 8.00am. You are advised to carry packed lunch, enough bottled drinking water and walking sticks will be given to you before walking to the forest. An encounter with an earth shaking remaining gorillas in the park for photos and talk to them for some time. After tracking you will drive to Kabale for an overnight stay at Arcadia cottages with a clear view of Lake Bunyonyi or Bushara Island camp (B).
Day 3: KABALE –QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
This morning you have breakfast at your lodge in Kabale and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park. The drive will take you through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth to see the tree climbing Lions and the true wilderness safari experience for your Uganda safari Holiday. Arriving back in the evening with enroute viewing. Dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge / Simba safari lodge/ Institute of Ecology
Day 4: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK SAFARI
This day will start with a game drive heading to the mating ground of the Uganda Kobs. You may see other residents of the park’s grassland like lions, elephants, buffaloes. Waterbucks, giant forest hog and other wild animals in their natural habitat before returning to your lodge for your breakfast. After late break fast you will relax at your lodge and wait for lunch. After lunch, you will have a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel, while the boat trip you will have an opportunity to see wildlife like hippo’s huff and spray mere feet away from the boat, buffalo linger in the shallows. The shores of the Kazinga channel are also home to an array of bird species like pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many more. After the afternoon boat trip, we will drive back to Lodge for an Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Simba safari lodge/ Institute of Ecology (FB)
Day 5: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – KIBALE NATIONAL PARK
Morning breakfast at the lodge with a game drive then travel to Kibale. The chimpanzee tracking safari to Kibale forest will lead you through a grassland area and tea plantation for a scenic view and photographs. Arrive Kibale for within the tropical forest of your lodge. Relax, dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge Kibale or Chimpanzee Guest House.
Day 6: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK & BIGODI SWAMP
Early in the morning set off for your visit to the chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park, well know for its greatest t variety and highest concentration of primates species in East Africa. Enjoy a guided primate walk in the tropical rainforest when looking the wild chimpanzees. You have the chance to see a wide variety of birds and other primates like red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys and perhaps also duiker an bushbuck .After lunch we will go for the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for a guided nature Walk, an initiative of the local community. The swamp is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates. Dinner and overnight at the cottages of Primate Lodge or Chimpanzee Guest house for an overnight stay
Day 7: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK – KAMPALA
Morning cup of coffee and drive to Kampala arriving in the afternoon.
Day 8: CITY TOUR
Take a city tour to the historical and culture places around Kampala.Transfer to the Airport to meet your outbound flight back home
